1 – Riapertura Cimitero

    Nell’anno 1996, in occasione dell’inumazione del famoso coreografo-ballerino russo Eugenij Poljakov, cittadino elettivo di Firenze, il Cimitero è stato riaperto per consentire l’inumazione di “urne ceneri” e “cassette di resti mortali” di tutti coloro che volessero depositare le proprie spoglie, o quelle dei propri cari, in un “Cimitero monumentale”, che, attivo dal 1827 al 1877, appartiene alla storia di Firenze affondando le sue radici nella Toscana granducale.

   Sono disponibili, allo stato attuale, circa 500 loculi, già costruiti o in corso di costruzione.

2 - Visite

Attualmente, l’orario di apertura del cimitero, per consentire le visite, anche di gruppi guidati, è il seguente:

lunedi                                         ore 9.00-12.00
dal martedi al venerdi compreso    ore 15.00-18.00 orario estivo (ora legale)
                                                  ore 14.00-17.00 orario invernale

Eventuali modifiche del suddetto orario saranno comunque comunicate mediante avviso affisso all’ingresso del cimitero

1 – The Reopening of the Cemetery for Use

In 1996, at the time of the burial of the famous Russian choreographer-ballerino Eugenij Poljakov, elected Citizen of Florence, the Cemetery was reopened to the burial of cinerary urns and small caskets of bones of all those who wish to be buried here, or to bury their dear ones, in a Monumental Cemetery, which belongs to Florence’s history and which goes back in its origins to the Tuscan Granduchy.

There are now about 500 spaces available, either already or in process of being constructed.

2 – Visits

   At present the opening hours of the cemetery for individual and group visits are the following:

  Mondays                           9:00-12:00 All Year
  Tuesdays through Fridays   3:00-6:00 p.m. Summers,
                                          2:00-5:00 p.m. Winters

   Any changes to this above schedule will be communicated by a notice at the entrance of the cemetery
