Immagini relative al muro di cinta interno e ad alcune pietre tombali del Cimitero monumentale di Porta a' Pinti detto 'degli Inglesi', in Piazzale Donatello. La documentazione accompagna la richiesta dell'autorizzazione di pronto intervento presentata alla Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici ed il Paesaggio e per il Patrimonio Storico e Artistico e all'Opificio delle Pietre Dure affinché venga effettuato un sopralluogo che valuti lo stato di conservazione dei sepolcri più a rischio.

These documented our request for permission to make repairs to the cemetery wall, which has been granted. Now we must raise the funds for the work.

Secondo muro massiccio sotto il precedente danneggiato dalle infiltrazioni d'acqua a causa delle tegole dissestate e in parte mancanti. (Ancora da riparare)
The second wall, of masonry, below the first one, now has broken or missing tiles to protect it from water seepage. (Still needing to be repaired)

Il muro presenta delle crepe a causa delle tegole protettrici mancanti.
The cracks caused by the lack of protective tiles.

L'immagine mostra lo stemma con il Giglio di Firenze, presumibilmente scolpito nella bottega dugentesca di Arnolfo di Cambio. In origine parte dell'antica Porta a' Pinti successivamente nell'Ottocento fu posto sul muro di cinta interno all'entrata nord del cimitero. Per la conservazione dello stemma si rende necessario un intervento sul muro a rischio di crollo.

This image shows the shield with the lily, symbol of Florence, likely sculpted in Arnolfo di Cambio's workshop in the thirteenth century, originally on the medieval city gate of Porta a' Pinti, and then placed on the north wall of the cemtery, now at risk of being damaged if the wall itself is not repaired.

Lo stemma guelfo era parte della stessa Porta a' Pinti distrutta nel Risorgimento quando fu abbattuta la cerchia muraria.

The Guelf coat of arms, from the same Porta a' Pinti, which at the Risorgimento was destroyed along with the medieval walls to the city of Florence.

The hill of the cemetery was a medieval rubbish dump, and we often find fragments of hand-painted majolica pottery. The earth subsides and consequently the tombs are subject to damage. http://www.florin.ms/ceramic.html

Crollo di un cippo (quattro giorni fa) presumibilmente a causa della muffa presente nel cemento. L'odore di muffa è fortemente percepito.
